IMPORTANT — READ CAREFULLY BEFORE INSTALLING OR USING THIS SOFTWARE.
By installing or using PC AutoPilot (“the Software”) you agree to be bound by the terms of this
End User Licence Agreement (“Agreement”). If you do not agree to these terms, do not install or
use the Software.
This is the same agreement that is presented during installation and bundled with the
application as LICENSE.txt. It is published here so you can read it
before you download or install.
1. GRANT OF LICENCE
Subject to the terms of this Agreement, PC AutoPilot grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, limited licence to install and use the Software on the number of devices permitted by the plan you have purchased (Trial: 1 device; Solo: 1 device; Family Pack: 3 separate single-device licences). A Team plan (10 devices) is planned for a future release.
2. TRIAL PERIOD
The Software may be used free of charge for a 14-day trial period. After the trial period expires, a paid licence is required to continue using the Software.
3. RESTRICTIONS
You may not:
- a) Copy, modify, or distribute the Software or any portion of it (except one backup copy as permitted by applicable law);
- b) Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Software, except to the extent such restriction is prohibited by applicable law (including decompilation for interoperability or error correction under Directive 2009/24/EC or equivalent laws);
- c) Rent, lease, or lend the Software to any third party;
- d) Remove or alter any proprietary notices or labels on the Software;
- e) Use the Software for any unlawful purpose.
4. OWNERSHIP
The Software is licensed, not sold. PC AutoPilot retains all intellectual property rights in and to the Software, including all copyrights, patents, trade secrets, and trademarks.
5. PRIVACY & DATA
The Software runs locally on your computer. It makes the following network connections: (a) licence validation requests to our licensing provider (Keygen), which include your licence key, a hardware-derived device identifier used to enforce per-device limits, and your computer's name, which is shown back to you so you can tell which PC holds a seat; (b) periodic update checks against our official release source (GitHub); (c) ONLY IF YOU OPT IN, crash reports (with your Windows username removed from file paths) sent to our crash-reporting provider (Sentry); and (d) ONLY IF YOU PROVIDE your own Anthropic API key, AI prompts sent directly to Anthropic as described in Section 8.
We do not receive or collect usage analytics, screenshots, or the contents of your files. The macro recorder, when YOU start a recording, captures the keystrokes and mouse actions you perform so it can replay them; those recordings are saved only on your PC, are never transmitted, and the app warns you before recording begins. 6. FILE OPERATIONS AND BACKUPS
The Software's cleanup, duplicate-finder, file-organization, and automation features can move, modify, and DELETE files on your computer. Destructive operations that you start in the app require your in-app confirmation. The optional scheduled cleanup, once enabled, runs unattended without prompting and permanently removes auto-regenerated temporary files; you can turn it off at any time in Settings. Recoverable user files are sent to the Windows Recycle Bin rather than permanently deleted, but no software can guarantee that the right files will always be selected. YOU ARE SOLELY RESPONSIBLE FOR MAINTAINING ADEQUATE BACKUPS OF IMPORTANT DATA BEFORE USING THESE FEATURES. Subject to Sections 10 and 11 (including the non-excludable rights preserved there), we are not liable for loss of data beyond the limits stated in Section 11.
7. UPDATES
The Software periodically checks our official release source (currently hosted on GitHub) for new versions. An update check transmits a request for the current version manifest; it does not transmit your personal files. Updates may add, modify, or remove features. You can disable automatic update checks in Settings. For consumers in jurisdictions where we are required by law to provide updates necessary to keep the Software in conformity (including security updates under EU Directive 2019/770), nothing in this Agreement limits that obligation.
8. AUTOPILOT AI (BRING-YOUR-OWN-KEY)
The AutoPilot AI feature operates only if you supply your own Anthropic API key. When you use it, your prompts and related context are sent directly to Anthropic under YOUR key and are governed by Anthropic's terms and privacy policy; we do not receive or store them. You are responsible for all API usage charges billed by Anthropic and for keeping your key secure. AI-generated responses may be inaccurate or incomplete and are provided for assistance only; any destructive action suggested by the AI remains subject to the same in-app confirmations described in Section 6.
9. MONEY-BACK GUARANTEE; STATUTORY RIGHTS
Purchases include a 30-day money-back guarantee as described at https://www.pcautopilot.com/terms. This guarantee is in addition to, and does not limit, any refund or remedy rights you have under applicable law. Termination of this licence following a refund requires you to uninstall the Software; Section 13 applies accordingly.
10. DISCLAIMER OF WARRANTIES
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SOFTWARE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE.
SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW THE EXCLUSION OF IMPLIED WARRANTIES OR STATUTORY CONSUMER GUARANTEES, SO SOME OR ALL OF THE ABOVE EXCLUSIONS MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU. THIS SECTION DOES NOT LIMIT THE NON-EXCLUDABLE RIGHTS DESCRIBED IN SECTION 12 BELOW. NOTHING IN THIS AGREEMENT LIMITS ANY RIGHTS YOU MAY HAVE UNDER THE LAWS OF NEW JERSEY; THE EXCLUSIONS AND LIMITATIONS IN SECTIONS 10 AND 11 APPLY TO NEW JERSEY RESIDENTS ONLY TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY NEW JERSEY LAW.
11. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL PC AUTOPILOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES (INCLUDING LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL) ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH THIS AGREEMENT OR THE USE OF THE SOFTWARE. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY UNDER THIS AGREEMENT SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR YOUR LICENCE.
NOTHING IN THIS AGREEMENT EXCLUDES OR LIMITS LIABILITY FOR: (a) DEATH OR PERSONAL INJURY CAUSED BY NEGLIGENCE; (b) FRAUD OR FRAUDULENT MISREPRESENTATION; (c) GROSS NEGLIGENCE OR WILLFUL MISCONDUCT; OR (d) ANY LIABILITY THAT CANNOT BE EXCLUDED OR LIMITED UNDER APPLICABLE LAW, INCLUDING NON-WAIVABLE PRODUCT-LIABILITY CLAIMS AND, FOR CONSUMERS IN THE UNITED KINGDOM, DAMAGE TO YOUR DEVICE OR DIGITAL CONTENT CAUSED BY OUR FAILURE TO USE REASONABLE CARE AND SKILL (CONSUMER RIGHTS ACT 2015).
SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW THE LIMITATION OR EXCLUSION OF LIABILITY FOR INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, SO THE ABOVE LIMITATION MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.
12. INTERNATIONAL CONSUMERS — STATUTORY RIGHTS
AUSTRALIA: Our goods and services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. For major failures with the service, you are entitled to cancel your contract with us and to a refund for the unused portion, or to compensation for its reduced value; and to compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure. Nothing in this Agreement excludes, restricts, or modifies those guarantees.
EUROPEAN UNION / EEA: If you are a consumer in the EU/EEA, you have legal guarantees of conformity for digital content under Directive (EU) 2019/770 as implemented in your country, including the right to updates (including security updates) necessary to keep the Software in conformity. Nothing in this Agreement waives or limits those rights.
UNITED KINGDOM: If you are a consumer in the UK, the Consumer Rights Act 2015 gives you rights in relation to digital content that is faulty or not as described, including remedies where our digital content damages your device or other digital content and we have not used reasonable care and skill. Nothing in this Agreement excludes or limits those rights.
13. TERMINATION
This licence is effective until terminated. It will terminate automatically if you fail to comply with any term of this Agreement. Upon termination you must destroy all copies of the Software in your possession.
14. GOVERNING LAW AND VENUE
This Agreement is governed by the laws of the State of Louisiana, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. The United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods (CISG) does not apply. Any dispute shall be brought in the state or federal courts located in Louisiana, USA.
IF YOU ARE A CONSUMER, this choice of law and venue does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory consumer-protection laws of the country where you habitually reside, and does not limit any right you may have to bring or defend proceedings in the courts of that country.
